1300 Retreat
The gateway house — entrance opposite the road to Chandria, bedrooms facing Agridia's quiet hillside, and a wide veranda perched above the property's own garden with an open view down the valley.
A small collection of stays: three houses at the eastern gate of Cyprus's highest village, with pine forest, an award-winning vineyard down the road and Agridia's quiet ridge across the valley, and a fourth in the foothills below.
The gateway house — entrance opposite the road to Chandria, bedrooms facing Agridia's quiet hillside, and a wide veranda perched above the property's own garden with an open view down the valley.
Set below street level, opening straight onto the plot's private garden — named for the orchards Kyperounta is known for. Slow mornings, long dinners outside, five minutes from the village.
The quiet companion to 1300 Retreat — entered from the Agridia-facing side, sharing the same garden as Mila Nest. Built for two, with a proper desk for the days you don't want to leave.
A one-bedroom villa on two floors in Agios Georgios Kafkallou, a tiny village in the Troodos foothills. The bedroom sits below street level and opens straight onto its own private garden, with the mountain in view. Very quiet, and made for rest — or for remote work, if you want somewhere peaceful to focus.
Good to know: two floors with stairs between them, and a car is needed. The nearest shops are in neighbouring villages, so bring groceries.
Book on AirbnbKyperounta is the largest mountain village in Cyprus and one of its highest, at 1,140–1,300 metres in the heart of the Troodos range. The houses sit at the eastern edge of the village, on the road toward Chandria — Kyperounda Winery, one of the highest vineyards in Europe, is a little further along the same road.
The village centre — taverns, cafés, small museums, 18th-century churches — is a 20-minute walk through the village and its views, or a four-minute drive. Hiking trails start from the village itself, and Mount Olympus ski season is within reach in winter.
Agios Georgios Kafkallou is a tiny village in northern Pitsilia, on the foothills of the Troodos Mountains in Nicosia District. Around 26 people lived here at the 2011 census, so the quiet is real.
The Xyliatos lake trail and Panagia Asinou, a UNESCO-listed church with 12th-century frescoes, are close by. Kakopetria, with its river walk and tavernas, is a short drive away. Shops are in the neighbouring villages, so it's best to stock up on the way.
